The works that he creates will be displayed on his solo ‘The Kernel’ to be hosted at The Melrose Gallery in July 2019. The exhibition opens 4 July at 6:30pm and runs until 4 August.
Adébayo is a painter, writer, actor and director. He was born and still lives and works from London and yet his works are clearly influenced by his Nigerian descent.
With a background in law and theatre practice (Shakespeare’s Globe, Young vic and London’s Westend), Bolaji’s work is a fusion of artistic languages, dramatic compositions and vibrant colours.
At the centre of Bolaji’s practice is a dialogue between the internal and external world; by responding honestly to the world around him the artist subsequently engages in an intuitive exploration of himself.
The Melrose Gallery is excited to be hosting Bolaji’s first artist residency and exhibition in South Africa.
